The North Carolina Air Awareness Council has honored the Charlotte Office for its outstanding employee outreach efforts during the summer when ozone emissions need to be reduced.
The award was based on the number and quality of ozone awareness programs and operational changes. Some of the changes included encouraging “lunch-in” on ozone alert days, designated carpool parking, installation of office lighting with sensor switches, energy optimization systems, and the purchase of Energy Star computer equipment.
Don Parris promoted these initiatives. 11/7/2008
